The gallery is officially open and 2013 will be a great year for us. Our gallery hours for 2013 are Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Our walls are filled with unique art from mainly local artists. We are amazed at the artistic talent that is available to the gallery and close to the Wahpeton-Breckenridge area. We have started to hang some of Fritz Scholder’s art from a collection of over a dozen pieces that are on exhibit at the North Dakota State College of Science’s library. Our plans are to have most of the collection in our gallery in the next couple of months. It will be the largest collection of Scholder’s art in the Midwest. We also are featuring examples of Native American birch bark art, including biting, scroll work and artwork.
The gallery has a wide variety of items of which we are always expanding. These include numerous unique cards, children and adult books, book tapes, arrow heads, brass antler letter openers, wood turnings, carvings and scroll saw work, metal sculptures, hand made jewelry, pottery, wooden authentic farm and heavy machinery replicas, and many native American items.
