December was a very busy month for us as we had record art sales for the holidays. We want to thank all of you that put the art gallery on your list of places to check out for those unique holiday gifts.

The art gallery held it’s annual meeting in January and elected 2 new board members. We want to welcome Darrin Krein and Jody Friskop to the gallery board. (Please see current board members under our “About Us” section of the website.) We look forward to their input on the board as they share their expertise in helping us better define our roll in the art community and continue to offer interesting and educational events that will insure the success of the gallery in the twin towns.

For all of you that were members in 2012 don’t forget to stop by the galley and pick up a special gift that we had made for you to thank you for your support of the gallery in 2012. We also ask you to consider renewing your membership for 2013 to help us continue to be able to offer you classes and events that showcase area artists.

The security system is installed in the art gallery thanks to a grant from The Lake Region Arts Council. The gallery Board of Directors would like to thank Amy Schmidt for writing the grant and to the Lake Region Arts Council for partially funding the system. The security system is comprised of state of the art digital cameras that are mounted both inside and outside all entrances to the gallery.

Our new gallery manger, Mary Gibbon, is at the gallery to help answer any of your art questions. You will find her at the gallery on Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Stop in for a cup of coffee, sign up for an art class or purchase that unique piece of art that you have been looking for.

• May 18 – The Cristina Collection by Beverly, 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Red Door Art Gallery.
• May 28 – Fay Pary: Journaling Through Photography, 7:00 p.m. at Hughes Shelter, Chahinkapa Park, Wahpeton, ND. Free and open to all ~ no registration required.
